The Chilkoot Indian Association, through a generous grant
from the Administration for Native Americans, has
developed an online learning management system. The
system, called Syberworks, is a dynamic package that aids
the tribe in providing training and development
opportunities to its members.
The system has been created to identify the competencies
required to succeed in tribal government. These
competencies identify the knowledge, skills, and
abilities required for each position in the association.
For each competency, specific learning events are
identified that will aid the learner in developing the
required competency. Learning events may be courses,
readings, certifications or college degrees. Many of the
learning events have corresponding online classes right
on the Syberworks site.
